Giving Tuesday is a time when non-profits of all types reach out for much needed year-end support. But this Giving Tuesday, California League of Conservation Voters’ team is asking you to join us in supporting organizations helping wildfire victims recover.
In the wake of the deadliest wildfire in California history, it’s critical for us to stand together and support one another. As we advocate for bold action on climate from the legislature, we must also face the now daily impacts of climate change on our lives.
This Giving Tuesday, please take time to contribute to these organizations helping the victims of the wildfires to recover:
California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Relief Fund – supports intermediate and long-term recovery efforts.
United Way – provides cash aid to help individuals find housing, make up for lost wages, and cover transportation and food costs.
North Valley Community Foundation – helps with immediate priorities, such as portable showers, blankets, shelters, and long term recovery efforts.
The clouds of soot, ash, and fine particulates that clogged the air for so many these past two weeks are a reminder how crucial clean air is – and how so many communities in California must deal with poor air quality every single day – and why the work we do together at CLCV matters.
Thank you for being a CLCV member and partnering with us to fight for clean air, safe water, and public lands for all Californians.
In gratitude,
Mary, Mike, Andy, Nicole, Sarah, Sam, Matt, Lucas, Annquenetta, and Jena (The CLCV team.)
